Bourdeaux’s Q1 total of $350,000 tops all House challengers nationally

Bourdeaux’s sum also tops any congressional challenger in Q1 of 2017.

Suwanee, Georgia — On Monday, Carolyn for Congress filed its first quarterly fundraising report with the FEC, showing $353,254 raised in the first seven weeks of the campaign and $397,550 on hand at the end of the period. Bourdeaux’s haul tops the list of total contributions in the first quarter of any congressional challenger nationwide.*

Over 1,000 individual contributions made up Bourdeaux’s sum — not a single dollar came from corporate PACs.

Bourdeaux’s fundraising total is also more than any Democratic challenger during the same period during the 2018 election cycle: Q1 of 2017.* Only eight Democratic challengers raised more in Q2 of 2017 than Bourdeaux raised this past quarter.

After the closest Congressional race in the country in 2018, Bourdeaux has already been endorsed for her second run by Reps. John Lewis and Hank Johnson, Ambassador Andrew Young, Governor Roy Barnes, Senator Max Cleland, former GA-06 candidate Jon Ossoff, 12 state legislators and many local leaders.

“Folks in this district know that Carolyn is a strong candidate who will go to Washington to get things done, which is why so many people have come together to support her in the first weeks of this campaign,” said Brexton Isaacs, Bourdeaux’s campaign manager. “It’s going to take a strong campaign to win this race and flip this seat, which is why we’re proud of the outpouring of support that Carolyn has received as she launches this campaign.”

*Not including candidates running in special elections at the time.
