Bourdeaux Statement on Record Turnout on the First Day of Georgia Early Voting
On the first day of early voting in Georgia, Bourdeaux calls on election officials to increase capacity
SUWANEE, GA — This morning on Georgia’s first day of early voting, Gwinnett and Forsyth counties saw record-breaking turnout at the early vote locations throughout the district. Democratic nominee for Georgia’s 7th Congressional District Carolyn Bourdeaux released the following statement:
"The enthusiasm and record turnout at early vote locations this morning shows that Georgians are ready to vote and eager for a change in leadership in this state and in this country. However, we need our Secretary of State and local Boards of Elections to rise to this moment and do everything in their power to ensure that everyone who wants to vote, can vote — and that means functioning voting machines, enough poll workers, and quickly-moving lines at every polling location. This November, every voice must be heard and every vote must be counted. "
