NEW: Ambassador Andrew Young & 11 Black Faith Leaders Pen Letter Supporting Bourdeaux
Georgia faith leaders: "Carolyn has stood shoulder to shoulder with us in our battle for justice"
SUWANEE, GA — A coalition of 11 Black faith leaders, led by civil rights leader Ambassador Andrew Young, penned a letter of support for Carolyn Bourdeaux and her run for Congress in Georgia's 7th Congressional District.
The letter comes after Bourdeaux ran a campaign centered on deepening her connection with Black Georgians across the district. Over the course of the campaign, Bourdeaux has visited with faith leaders at dozens of places of worship across Gwinnett. Bourdeaux has held virtual town halls focused on racial justice, and earlier in October, joined a group of Black faith leaders and Amb. Young for a conversation about the issues important to the Black community during a Faith Leaders Roundtable. Amb. Young has also voiced a radio ad on behalf of Bourdeaux, which aired on Black-focused radio stations.

"We are facing extraordinary challenges — and we need extraordinary leaders who will rise to the needs of this moment and fight for what is right," said Ambassador Andrew Young in the letter. "In the two years since Carolyn came just shy of victory, she has not stopped to rest. And we have not stopped to rest. So now, it is time to finish the job. We are proud to support Carolyn in her campaign for Congress."
